Dear Friends,

On Saturday, April 28th from 10am to 2pm, people across Burlington County will join together to prevent pill abuse and theft. At twenty-one area locations, local participants of National Take-Back Day will welcome residents wishing to safely dispose of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs – no questions asked.

As a physician, I understand the importance of preventing prescription drug abuse, and as a legislator I have worked hard to prevent it. The most basic step to protecting you, your family and your friends is getting unused or expired prescription drugs out of the house. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from the medicine cabinet of a friend or family member. By cleaning these forgotten and potentially dangerous prescription drugs out your cabinets and drawers, you can take a proactive step to preventing misuse and abuse.

Last October, Americans disposed of nearly 200 tons of prescription drugs in National Take-Back day just like this. Safely ridding your home of old or unused medication that can cause serious harm is an important step toward protecting loved ones. Scroll down to find out where the nearest disposal site is, or you can call my office at (856) 461-3997.

Please take a few minutes of your time between 10am and 2pm on Saturday April 28th to participate, and share this information with your neighbors and loved ones.

Sincerely,

Assemblyman Herb Conaway, M.D.
